At the end of the day standby is just real-time binary copy from one node to another. The beauty of it, is seeing the database swithchover/failover when things go wrong with hardware, if you are on the same node and you unplug the hard disk both databasesKubilayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01018428309326848765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18830350.post-87728553926566379202010-12-03T20:34:54.970+00:002010-12-03T20:34:54.970+00:00I'm curious how this works on a host that has ...I'm curious how this works on a host that has a test instance. we want to setup the standby on the same host. are there special requirements that we would need to be aware of?Thomasnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18830350.post-35931298870620644932009-12-29T12:44:29.245+00:002009-12-29T12:44:29.245+00:00You can just switch-over again. If not, then your second question sounds like you need "incomplete-recovery" with "resetlogs". Go back to your last good backup, restore as primary and then configure standby.Kubilayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01018428309326848765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18830350.post-52036245975665588002009-12-24T05:17:11.964+00:002009-12-24T05:17:11.964+00:00Its very usefull , how we can change host_istanbul...Its very usefull , how we can change host_istanbul to primary database again ?

How we can repair SCREW dr server if it has archive gaps and those archives are not in the primary nodes.

I will appreciate u r response.djkaveeshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06006605623718851487noreply@blogger.com
